Origins of MIUI Firmware?
![]() |
For several years now, only two platforms have been working consistently on smartphones: IOS and Android. The first operating system is installed only on Apple phones and the second on all others.
The smartphones of the popular manufacturer Xiaomi also work on Android, but not on a clean one, but on a modified one. the firmware
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi offers customers a very interesting solution: a modified version of Android, which has absorbed all the advantages of many operating systems. We are talking about MIUI firmware, a proprietary Xiaomi product, characterized by a redesigned user interface and the presence of a large number of applications aimed at optimizing the system. We will tell you in detail what Xiaomi MIUI firmware is, how it differs from the standard version of Android, and we will also talk about the pros and cons of using MIUI.In addition, we will consider the problems of downloading and updating MIUI on Xiaomi smartphones.
The Xiaomi company launches two versions of the MIUI firmware. The first is Developer (for developers); the second is stable (for everyone else, that is, for regular users).
The development software is updated quite frequently. It is in it that all innovations are tested and experiments are carried out, so the average person is recommended to install the stable version of the software.
Also, the firmware is subdivided into Global and China versions. The first type supports all languages, including Russian, Belarusian, and Ukrainian. The second type is intended for the Chinese market, so it only includes Chinese and English.
In general, MIUI is open source, thanks to which not only Xiaomi specialists, but also independent programmers are working on its modernization. Major MIUI updates are made almost every month. At the same time, the stability of the firmware (at least of the official versions) remains at an invariably high level.
Just as Xiaomi founder Lei Jun saw Steve Jobs as a role model, MIUI was very similar to the iOS environment, when in fact it had the fundamentals of Android. For example, until now, the system displays applications on desktops and not in a special applications menu. Like Android itself, MIUI offers many customization options. However, from the beginning, they were much more creative than the competition, and many years ago it was possible to change fonts or colors throughout the environment. In recent years, MIUI has moved closer to the Android base environment.
What is MIUI firmware?
MIUI firmware is an operating system that is an extended version of Android and is used to ensure the stable operation of Xiaomi smartphones. Periodically MIUI is referred to as shell, firmware, plugin. The essence of the concept and purpose of MIUI does not change from this.
MIUI firmware is a complex of system settings and software, the presence of which has a beneficial effect on the performance of Xiaomi smartphones. Various parameters are improved, including power saving level, application startup speed, and data transfer stability. MIUI phones are very fast, even with many Xiaomi apps and services pre-installed.
MIUI firmware is used in almost all Xiaomi phones. Therefore, many smartphone owners are familiar with the functionality of this Operating System, which combines advanced Android and iOS solutions.
The full mastery of MIUI opens up many interesting opportunities for device owners, and regular updating of this system leads to an increase in the number of options available immediately after installing a new firmware version.
MIUI application benefits
The main advantage is a lot of customization and additional options that pure Android did not have. All the applications that the user may need after the first launch are already installed. This does not affect the performance of the system, because the MIUI shell, especially its versions 8 and 9, is distinguished by a smooth animation and a fast launch of applications.
The appearance can be customized according to the wishes of the user. It is possible to configure the graphical interface as in Android or iOS, leave it unchanged or download a new design for the menu. Many different color fonts, Estilos, icons and themes can be downloaded with MIUI. There are many applications in Google Market that allow you to change the appearance, but they are paid.
The MIUI firmware itself is updated frequently, up to several times a month. Also, the latest firmware for old smartphones appears. The latest devices are also receiving Android updates, but with some delay.
The power consumption of a MIUI device is no different. Despite the large number of applications, the battery performance is optimized. The discharge rate depends more on the capacity of the battery than on the characteristics of the case.

Features MIUI Firmware?
The MIUI Operating System, is a derivative of Android, and therefore a project subject to Linux operating standards, must comply with certain open source guidelines. We are talking about the openness of the software and the ability to "visualize" freely the code or part of it to start developing. Xiaomi has historically had big problems with this, as its work is a proprietary environment (certain specially designed design) that the company has kept secret for a long time.
Lock screen, multitasking and menus
When asked what MIUI is, it's safe to say that it's a convenience wrapped in a beautiful shell. It all starts with the lock screen, which has undergone certain changes. No need to unlock to access your messages, contacts, or camera. At the same time, by double clicking on the circle located in the center, the user automatically switches to the music player.
(It will not take more than a minute to automatically optimize the available applications, but all smartphone owners will be happy with a high level of comfort during subsequent interaction with the device.)
Expanding the capabilities of the multitasking menu should also be considered an important detail. To close all active applications, simply press the big button, found in this menu. For selective shutdown, you can use simple movements of your fingers on the screen, both up and down. The notification menu in MIUI now has two separate sections that, if desired, can be changed by making one. The first shows a list of notifications and the other contains quick settings.
Music and message player
![]() |
You can listen to high-quality music from a special service, which is similar to the famous iTunes Radio. This refers to the Baidu Music program, which needs additional configuration before using it at full capacity. Thanks to the "Sleep Timer" option, every music lover will be able to enjoy their favorite songs until the moment when vivid dreams begin. The main thing is to get it right at the right time.
Another feature is related to the lyrics of the songs, which can be uploaded at the request of the owner. Now you can not only sing along with your musical idols, but also understand what they are singing about and even improve your knowledge of foreign languages.
As for the application to receive and send messages, unfortunately there is not much news. However, an interesting detail should be noted, which is associated with the ability to quickly respond to a message. As a rule, the received SMS appears on the screen in a concise form, after which it is necessary to open it and only then it will be possible to reply to your interlocutor. Now the message will be a little more detailed, but at the same time, you can send a reply immediately without being distracted from other applications. A simple and useful feature.

1.- Optimization. As mentioned above, an Android user can optimize the system to suit her needs at any time. MIUI successfully continues this tradition by making it easier to follow. For example, root rights, which in some cases are required to install certain applications, can be enabled and disabled. When a sufficient number of unnecessary files have accumulated on the phone, you can clean up, freeing up space and reducing the load on the system.
2.- Security. The user will be able to control the processes that are associated with the consumption of traffic and battery. Once this information is received, it will be possible to reduce the cost of money and increase the overall uptime of the smartphone.
Given the growing threat of malware, it is very important to check your phone for viruses from time to time. For these purposes, you can resort to various antivirus applications, but thanks to the built-in MIUI program, it is not at all necessary to search for them. And all because it is quite functional and agile.
3.- Other characteristics. Additional features lies in the analog of the quick widgets. Each time you slide your finger to one or another icon, its reduced copy will be displayed, allowing you to quickly access the required application. In the case of music, a player control will appear, with notes: a small sheet for short messages will be created. All this suggests that the owner of a mobile device does not need to spend time quickly accessing the main functions of the applications.
MIUI firmware has its own antivirus. It works automatically, checking programs and sites. This is not the most necessary feature, as there are no dangerous viruses for the Android operating system yet. But the very fact of the presence of such a program is intended to give users peace of mind about their data stored on the device.

MIUI Security 5.1.5-210401.0.1-apppredict MIUI Security is a complete tool with which we can keep our Xiaomi device safe and optimized. Using a set of very useful utilities, it will only take a few minutes to perform an efficient scan. This will allow us to identify problems or elements that we can eliminate to free up space and memory.
The interface that we observe in MIUI Security is the usual one in apps integrated and developed by Xiaomi. Accessing each of the tools is very intuitive and we only have to view the main menu to use the function that interests us the most at all times.

MIUI desktop and its screens
![]() |
The number of virtual screens is large, five is enough for me, but you can take their number to at least twenty-five. A pinch on the screen opens a matrix of all or part of the desks, if there are many tables, they hit the screens.
The desktop contains icons for programs and settings, and there is also an area at the bottom of the screen that contains 0 to 6 program shortcuts. This item is fixed and stays in place while moving between desks. Besides the program shortcut, you can also put a folder here.
You can move between screens by swiping or using a pinch gesture and then selecting the desired desktop. Another option is to slide a thin strip between the desk space and the fixed panel at the bottom.
As a desktop image, you can use standard static or dynamic (live) images. MIUI also has an online database of images, any of which can be downloaded to a smartphone by clicking on it.
In addition to the shortcuts, you can put on the desktop, as is standard in Android, different widgets, shortcuts or entire folders. Items placed on the desktop can be dragged from one screen to another, just hold your finger on the item and an interface will appear to drag or remove it from the screen. By the way, in MIUI for icons, the automatic adjustment to each other works, as in SPB Shell 3D.

There are already more than a hundred themes for MIUI. They can be downloaded through the theme manager or just in the forums, and then put on a memory card and installed.
The fact is that in the MIUI firmware you can combine themes as you want. That is, you can grab an image and icons from one theme, the bottom panel and lock bar Estilo from the second, and the dialog boxes and system line from the third. This configuration flexibility provides users with ample opportunities to transform a simply beautiful case into a "super convenient and beautiful" one. for you personally. And of course I can't help but mention the fact that my favorite site www.deviantart.com for MIUI has a lot of cool themes and individual design elements. Type MIUI search and you're done.

MIUI has its own marker with the SmartDial function (I only use it with the Latin alphabet and I won't tell you if it can be made to work with the Cyrillic alphabet). The dialer works like any other with SmartDial, you start dialing the subscriber's number, first or last name, and the system offers you options and filters them after each new letter / number entered.
An incoming call from the lock screen looks like the screenshot below, pull the lock bar down: you answer the call. Pull up: a button appears to hang up and a key for a quick reply to a person with a pre-prepared text message.
During a conversation with a subscriber, you can call the numeric keypad, pause the call, activate the loudspeaker, or activate the recording of the conversation. It is true that this function works, as usual in Android, not very well, I only recorded my voice, but I did not hear the voice of the interlocutor.

There is nothing particularly spectacular about the MIUI address book, but it is convenient and understandable, and this is the main thing. The contacts are presented in a list, on the left is the photo of the subscriber, then the first and last name. The number is not displayed. If a workplace (company) is specified for the subscriber, it will be displayed in gray font under the first and last name. On the right is an alphabetic bar to quickly browse the contacts.
The search works as standard, press the search key or the icon and enter the required first, last or company name.
In the contact window, in addition to information about him, you can see the complete call log with its date and duration. In addition, any contact can be sent by email, text message or via Bluetooth. For an individual contact, you can assign your own ringtone.
One of the distinctive features of the address book in MIUI is the built-in call and SMS blocking feature (DND mode). With this utility you can configure a blacklist. Also, for subscribers on the list, you can configure the action when they call you, to hear beeps, reset the number, or to have the device pick up the phone and turn silence on (it's fun and cruel). And messages from blacklisted subscribers can be received on the "ignore list" or simply configure the utility so that the smartphone does not show such SMS as new.

The call history is sorted by subscribers. Recent calls are given priority and all calls from a person are collected in the call log below their picture. That is, in the log you see the last call of the subscriber and, by clicking on it, you will access the history of all the calls of this person.

If the screen is locked, information about a missed call is displayed as a number in a small red circle on the left side of the lock bar. When the screen is unlocked, the information remains on the top line, as well as in the form of a similar circle with a number inside near the phone icon.
In the system bar, when brought to full screen, the total number of missed calls is displayed along with the missed call icon.

MIUI does not have a concept of profiles, as Android does. However, there is an alternative, although not complete. On the system bar there is a Toggle tab, which contains buttons to control the wireless interfaces and sound. So for example here you can enable or disable vibration or ring with one touch. And if you hold your finger, for example, on the on / off call icon, you will be taken to the sound settings menu.
MIUI system line
MIUI has an unusual system bar even in the context of the latest versions of HTC Sense and Samsung TouchWiz, where there are tabs and various other innovations. So in MIUI, when you pull the system bar from the top, you see a screen and three tabs at the bottom: Notifications, Programs, Alternatives. The first one (on the left) shows the missed events, as is standard in the Android system bar. There is also a panel with information about the music that is playing.
In the middle tab, you will see an array of icons of running programs. Clicking on any icon will take you to the details window of the program, you can stop it, remove it, etc. Above is a utility to clean memory, something useful for "robots" they don't have the most RAM. The tab on the right contains buttons to control the wireless interfaces.
MIUI text messages
![]() |
When you open a chat, you see all the correspondence with the selected person. Above is a picture of the subscriber and information about him, as well as a button for speed dialing. The messages go in a row, both yours and the interlocutor's, from top to bottom (bottom - new). To easily distinguish your messages from those of your interlocutor, you can select a background text for your messages and contact messages in the settings.
For each message, the time it was received and the full date are displayed inside. Messages you send are marked with a check mark when they reach the recipient. Also, this moment can be expressed by sound or vibration, the sound is selected.
But the most important thing that I liked about the MIUI message window and that I had not seen before (although perhaps I missed it?) Is the possibility to add any message to my favorites. After all, it often happens that in a message you are sent important information, an address, a phone number or something else, and then you have to search for this message among the heap or remember words to find it by searching. In MIUI, you simply add a message to your favorites and you can always check it by going to the tab with the favorite messages.
Any message within the chat can be deleted, you can also delete the entire conversation thread with one click. Each message within the chat can be forwarded to another person.
By the way, in the message settings of the Nexus One, you can change the color of the trackball indication, which flashes once every few seconds if you have missed messages.
The system to count the characters entered in MIUI has been left as standard from Android. The number of characters entered is not displayed immediately, as soon as you started to write SMS, but at the moment when there are ten characters left until the end of the limit of the first text message (this is for Cyrillic text). That is, while you are writing the first sixty characters, you do not know how many characters have already been used, but how many are left, and you will only know when you have passed the border of 60 characters, this is inconvenient.
If you were typing a message and suddenly went to the main menu, you pressed "Home", "Back" and the like, the message is saved. At any time, you can go to the correspondence window with a contact and continue writing a message.
Private SMS in MIUI, If you need to save the correspondence, but so that no one can see it, you must use the private part of the MIUI SMS client. To hide the dialog, simply add the selected contact to the closed section. And in the future, all messages from him will be displayed only in a separate menu. They will not appear in the notification block. Disclaimers of such messages will not be visible on the screen. This contact will also not be on the list of all incoming SMS.
MIUI photo and video
MIUI has created its own interface for the camera, as well as its own program for viewing images and photos. I will not describe its functionality in detail, but I will limit myself to screenshots. I will only say that the MIUI gallery in terms of capabilities is in no way inferior to the standard gallery on Android. The camera has the same settings that are featured on the standard camera for Google Nexus One.
MIUI traffic monitoring function
It is necessary for those users who have restrictions in the rate plan. The app allows you to track how many gigabytes have already been spent and warn you that the internet packet will end soon. You can configure automatic blocking of the Internet connection after the specified amount of traffic ends. The application calculates according to its algorithms and can be confused by 10-20 MB compared to consumption, which is taken into account by the mobile operator.
Recording telephone conversations
The fact that users need this feature is evidenced by the large number of recording apps that have appeared on the Google Play Store. MIUI shell smartphones have their own program to generate an audio file with a call recording. The official Android developers are against these types of applications that do not comply with the rules in the field of privacy and the storage of personal data. But MIUI was created in Asia and its manufacturers were guided by the rules of their company.
What is Xiaomi Cloud
Xiaomi Cloud is one of the services that is included as standard with your Xiaomi account. Android mobile phones typically use two user accounts. One is that of Google, which is through which all the standard Android experience is centralized. And then there is the manufacturer-specific account, which is often used to centralize the experience of the pre-installed services it offers on your device.
Xiaomi Cloud is the cloud service, which means that it provides you with an online storage space in which to save your files and your data. Everything you upload to this cloud will be available to access from its web client, as well as from any other Xiaomi device where you are using the same account.
MIUI hidden functions
Xiaomi users love their devices not only for the maximum optimization, high performance and low price, but also for the hidden capabilities of the Miui firmware.
A.- The developers provided the opportunity to obtain root rights, without losing the warranty. To do this, simply tap the screen 7 times in the "About phone" section. After that, you will automatically go to the engineer menu, or the corresponding item in the settings.
B.- Sound improvement in headphones. If you are the proud owner of Xiaomi headphones, you can improve the sound using the standard settings (additional settings, headphones and audio effects). To do this, simply select the type and model of your headset from the list. The device calibrates itself automatically and will adjust the equalizer to your needs.
C.- Be able to enable disable push notifications. Xiaomi did everything possible and centralized the inclusion of push notifications. To do this, simply enter the configuration menu, select the Security item and configure in the automatic start column the applications of interest from which you want to receive automatic notifications.
D.- Have the data about the owner when the phone is lost. To do this, simply go to settings, then go to the password settings menu and tap on the item owner information.
Should I install MIUI Firmware?
Of courseWe are talking about those smartphones that do not have the MIUI features. The advantages of non-standard firmware are clear enough to immediately accept its installation. However, it is also worth pointing out a number of controversial points that concern less experienced users in the first place.
First.- The main nuance lies in the fact that it will be extremely difficult to update your phone on your own. Here it is important to follow the detailed instructions or the advice of those people who have already done this procedure several times. For greater confidence in a positive result, you should take into account not only the instructions, but also the advice.
Second.- The warning is that other firmware will automatically cancel the warranty. Even if you decide to try MIUI temporarily and then return everything to its place, there is little chance that you will receive a later warranty service. What can we say about those cases where a firmware change will cause the smartphone to malfunction?
Note.- MIUI is definitely worth installing, because it is packed with a host of useful features and amenities that most users will appreciate. But it would be very unreasonable to transition this firmware on your phone without the help of third parties. In this, Xiaomi smartphone owners were very lucky, who were not only able to see this shell in action, but were also regularly content with updates designed to further enhance MIUI's potential.
How to Install Firmware on Xiaomi with Fastboot
To update with this method, you need a computer with the Windows operating system installed. Make sure your Android device is fully charged before flashing Xiaomi in fastboot mode. All user data will be erased in the process, so be careful to back up your data.
1.- Download MIUI ROM Flashing. Download MIUI ROM Flashing software from direct link. If your device has a locked bootloader, follow the link and follow the unlocking procedure. Familiarize yourself with the possible risks in the case of this operation.
2.- Choose the model of your phone. Select your model from the list using this link and download the firmware file. The extension must be ".tgz", if in your case it is ".gz", change it yourself to ".tgz".
3.- Enter Fastboot mode. Switch to Fastboot mode, to do this, turn off the device, press and hold the volume "-" and power buttons, and then hold it down for a while. After entering the mode, connect your device to your computer with a USB cable.
4.- Decompress the downloaded file. Unzip the file downloaded from Step 2, open the folder and copy the path.
5.- Use MIUI ROM Flashing. Install MIUI ROM Flashing, open it and paste the copied path into your firmware folder or specify the path by clicking the "Browse" button. Then immediately click Advanced, in the window that appears, opposite "FastBoot Script", click "Browse" again. In the unzipped folder with the firmware you have chosen, select the "flash_all.bat" file and click OK. Refresh the list of connected devices with the "Refresh" button and then click "Flash".
6.- Flashing through MIUI ROM Flashing Wait for MIUI ROM Flashing to finish the flashing process. If successful, the smartphone will reboot, after which you will have to wait for the new system to load.
Benefits of using MIUI in Xiaomi?
1.- Uninstall useless apps: Many applications can be uninstalled and several basic third-party applications are available directly as built-in functions on Redmi phones or as built-in applications. Some of them that I can count on at my fingertips are 'App Lock', 'Data Usage Manager', 'Theme Changer', 'Ringtone Downloader', 'Antivirus', 'Phone Manager' storage 'and' Cache Cleaner '. 2.- Hide Files Easily: In Xiaomi phones, you can hide your Files, Notes, SMS and Photos just by dragging down in respective applications. We don’t need any third party insecure vaults to safeguard or storage. Data loss is not a chance here which makes it very handy.
3.- Best Battery Backup: Xiaomi Phones have the best battery backup. It is possible just because of huge battery capacity and out of the box optimization techniques. On a 4000mAh battery, a 5-inch Redmi 3s phone can run around 24 hours and sometimes even more without battery consuming apps like Facebook and Instagram.
4.- Better Data Usage Options: Xiaomi gives you multiple options to restrict data access to various applications even when using Wi-Fi. We can restrict the applications to use whether Mobile Data or Wi-Fi or None. This method does save a lot of data which get used up in background activities.
5.- Smooth and User-Friendly UI: Xiaomi phones don’t have any main menu or app drawers. This reduces the task to go to App Drawers and is very friendly for those who are using Xiaomi device for the first time. This also reduces the RAM consumption as no app drawer is required to run in the background. Themes, Fonts, Ringtones, and Wallpapers make it more user-friendly and thus attracting a lot of Fans for itself.
6.- Easy Factory Reset and Backup: In other phones unlike X, if we factory reset it, we would lose all the data and stored applications and their data. Imagine if you are playing a game for 3 months, have unlocked everything and now you have to reset the phone. In other cases, you would lose all your progress but in Xiaomi phones you can easily backup and then factory reset it. After the successful reset, you can restore all the applications and their data. You no longer have to install all the individual applications one by one.
7.- Additional Services: There are various applications like Mi Message, Mi Cloud, one Mi Account for all your devices where you can sync your data. This way chance of data loss is minimal and data is also safe. Mi Message reduces your SMS carrier charges and thus helps a lot economically. Mi Cloud is free and an additional benefit apart from the Google Drive.
8.- Fingerprint Sensor: Fingerprint Scanner is very fast and lag free. I have been using my beast, Redmi Note 3 since last 1 year and haven’t felt any problem in this scanner. There have been rumors that there might be some extra usage of a Fingerprint scanner for shortcuts and calling emergency services in MIUI 9 but this is yet to be seen.
9.- Supports OTG: All the Xiaomi phones support data transfer through OTG connection. Xiaomi was one of the first Brands to introduce it in phones in the Indian Market. I have been using this feature extensively and am sure this is one of the best features any phone could have. Now, almost every smartphone is coming with this feature but still, this has to be added to the list.
10.- IR Blaster: Xiaomi is again one of the first Brands to introduce IR Blaster (Mobile Remote) in low budget smartphones. I have been using my device as a remote and it works quite fine with almost all electronics. This feature was nowhere in low budget smartphones unless Xiaomi introduced it.

How to use MIUI Firmware?
You all may have already come across the term "Custom ROM" or "Root". This is essentially what Android users strive to achieve. Having an unlocked bootloader with a custom recovery on your phone allows for a world full of possibilities to come. You can take full advantage of the internal hardware of your Android device. When it comes to Xiaomi, most power users don't necessarily like the lackluster custom skin, MiUI on top of Android. That is why Xiaomi is one of the largest providers that supports a large number of custom software and kernels.
Any smartphone user prefers to get the software updates as soon as possible. But that is not always the case. Manufacturers implement over-the-air updates, often referred to as "OTA updates." And these could take some time before they reach all the designated phones in the world. Often times, it can be annoying for a user to wait for the OTA notification. This waiting time can be hours, days, or even a few weeks.
That's where manual updating comes in handy. Xiaomi provides complete ROMs of each update, for each of its compatible devices. The OEM releases two different versions of these updates, in different formats, following different installation methods. These are known as - Recovery ROM and Fastboot ROM. Today, we are going to pay some attention to the first, which is much easier and requires less time than the second. So now you can follow the instructions below to install MIUI Recovery ROM using Updater application and stock recovery.
How are MIUI ROM downloads?
Xiaomi is officially launching standalone versions and updates in two geographical regions: China and the world. They differ, for example, by the offer of languages, graphic themes, the presence of Google applications and services (they, on the contrary, are not available in this country on phones with MIUI) or the availability of purely Chinese payment methods .
New MIUI firmware ROM builds appear frequently. They differ little from each other, sometimes Xiaomi is completely limited to interface changes. Users like the fact that there are many versions of MIUI and if necessary, updates can be downloaded several times a year.

How to control your mobile with My PC Suite
My PC Suite is the Xiaomi tool that will allow us to manage our phone from the PC.
Although unlike other devices from other brands, with our Android if we can access the storage from the windows explorer or the OS X finder, the truth is that many users prefer to manage their phone from a client.
for
Xiaomi has thought of these users and its Mi PC Suite is a client that will undoubtedly make life easier for all those who prefer this way of managing their device.
The first thing that catches your attention when opening this program is, without a doubt, the attractive design that it has. My PC Suite is designed following the MIUI style, therefore it is minimalist and has many circular elements that give it a quite striking appearance.
In addition to all this, we can also view the screen of our device. MIUI ROM Editions Information?
New users of Xiaomi smartphones, or just newcomers to MIUI, must be a bit puzzled by the types of firmware (probably called ROMs), they do not understand their differences or simply why there are so many types. Therefore, many simply do not update their devices or, on the other hand, wait for firmware updates, which may never arrive.
MIUI Developer ROM, is "Weekly", "Developer", "Beta" . The firmware from the developer is the most relevant and innovative, as it receives all the innovations first. This firmware is official from Xiaomi itself, and was created for advanced users to test innovations in the first place. It is updated every week, usually on Fridays, except for Chinese holidays and the presence of serious bugs, when the developers delay the release of the update.

However, some time ago, this was a widespread practice that helped accelerate the globalization of the Asian brand, thanks also to the passionate developers and people who, since the beginning of Xiaomi, have made their ingenuity and knowledge available to other users. .
Fastboot ROM is completely different from Recovery ROM where you need to connect device with PC and Mi update tool is used. Here the user has the option to select whether to delete the data or not. Fastboot ROM is mostly updated when faced with bugs / issues, locked phones, etc.

You can also access this section through the drop-down list at the top of the main screen. The configuration contains typical Android elements and non-standard functions. All parameters are compiled in 5 main blocks: settings for networks and wireless connections; system customization; accounts and synchronization; applications and memory; device, software and system information.
All the parameters are collected in 5 main blocks:
1.- Settings for networks and wireless connections.
2.- System customization.
3.- Accounts and synchronization.
4.- Applications and memory.
5.- Device, software and system information.
The first block contains information about current connections, available networks and you can also configure the flight mode there.
The second block allows you to control the visual components of the user interface. There you can change wallpapers, themes, fonts and adjust the screen brightness. Of the characteristics - the presence of the option "For the elderly". It is suitable for people not only elderly, but also with low vision, because this mode simplifies the design to a minimum.
There is an item called "Child Mode". It allows you to leave the child only those applications that the parent considers safe. The rest will not be available until the password is entered to exit the mode. The child will not be able to use blocked programs. This is convenient if the device is available to the child and contains important information or paid applications are installed.
In the same section there is a submenu "Other settings". Allows you to customize the display of events and notifications. Any alert can be assigned its own indicator color. The user will immediately see if she called him, wrote an SMS or sent a message in the messenger. The color indication is useful when the screen is off. It works even with the minimum battery charge.
The one-handed control setting is necessary for comfortable use of the phone and is found in the same sub-menu. When activated, the used area of the screen is reduced.
There is a system configuration submenu, where you will find the individual application and shell parameters. For each program, you can set the operating mode or disable it completely.
In the block "Device" There is only one button, when pressed, information about the phone, Android and MIUI version is displayed.

How is MIUI different from Android?
![]() |
New phones with the basic versions of Android and MIUI installed are fast, and the advantage in this indicator belongs to Android. However, this lineup is easy enough to explain from the difference in the amount of pre-installed software, because there are far fewer programs on phones with a clean version of Android. But after installing several applications from Google Play, the situation changes: the phones begin to show the same performance. After installing several dozen programs, MIUI smartphones are already getting ahead.
Another difference between the mentioned operating systems is the interface. For example, the basic programs on Android phones are located in a special folder, and on smartphones with MIUI they are initially located on the desktop. The nuances of sorting apps and their usefulness also differ. MIUI phones often have a number of unnecessary programs, which require some effort to remove. And there are more than enough built-in ads. Especially in Chinese versions of MIUI firmware.
There is no such thing in Android - all programs are stored in a separate menu. This is much more convenient, since the person himself chooses the software that he wants to see on the main screen. MIUI firmware has the sole function of assembling applications, adding them to thematic folders.
MIUI (Xiaomi) equipped phones have pre-installed programs and most of them are not used by the average user. To uninstall them, you will need to perform a number of manipulations, which will take some time. Pure Android is better in this regard: the user decides what to download, where to install, and when to uninstall.

Then go to the menu and select the item "delete". Then playmarket will automatically uninstall the app without unnecessary hassle and clean up all the garbage behind it.
Using special software
The second option will require the installation of the applicationCcleaner, which is designed to clean your smart device of unnecessary junk. To do this, install the application via panel.

Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools Xiaomi ADB / Fastboot Tools is a tool that you can download from Szaki's GitHub, the developer who created it. It is a very simple tool that takes advantage of ADB privileges to sweep a good part of the services and apps that your Xiaomi comes with from the map. When you use the tool you will notice that the bloatware is very high.
When you connect the Xiaomi to the PC, it will ask you to give permission to trust the computer, necessary for the ADB to work through USB debugging. Once connected, all the apps that your Xiaomi has will appear, including MSA (an app to send advertising), services to collect data from your phone, third-party apps.

How to Install Flash Fastboot ROM using My Flash
1.- Download the Fastboot ROM from the above link to your PC and extract it to the desktop.
2.- Now you need to download and install the Mi Flash tool on your PC.
3.- Next, launch the Mi Flash application and tap 'Browse'.
4.- Next, you need to select the ROM folder on the desktop.
5.- Power off the device and enter Fastboot mode. You need to press Volume Down + Power button at the same time to boot the device in fastboot mode.
6.- Connect your device with PC.
7.- Next, go to the flashing tool and tap the "button". Update & quot; to view connected devices.
8.- Once the device is detected, you have three options to choose from based on your requirements, as shown in the image above.
8.1.- .Flash_all: - Erase all data from built-in storage, erase all user data, be careful! (Clean installation)
8.2.- Flash_all_except_storaget: - Will erase all user data does not erase embedded storage data.
8.3.- Flash_all_except_data_storage: - Does not erase embedded storage data, does not erase user data
9.- Tap 'Flash' at the top right to start the flashing process.
10.- Once the update process is finished, the device will automatically reboot.
Note.- If the tool cannot find ADB / Fastboot even if you are sure everything is configured correctly, open the folder where XiaomiADBFastbootTools is located. While holding down the Shift key, right-click in the empty area and open Command Prompt or PowerShell. Enter this command java -jar XiaomiADBFastbootTools.jar and hit Enter. After that it should work.
Everything that appears in the tool can be deleted without problems, including Google applications that you may not use. In the event that we have accidentally deleted something, we have the option of reinstalling it with the tool. We can also disable apps instead of deleting them. Changes take effect immediately, so you don't need to restart your phone or do anything else.
Note.- You can delete apps without fear, since all the apps selectable in the tool are not necessary for the operation of the phone

The last method does not require additional manipulations or the installation of third-party software. In the new miui 8.0, the uninstallation of applications is in the same place as in the standard Adnroid operating system. Therefore, to remove, you need to go to the phone menu, select the settings item. We also find in the subtopic & quot; applications & quot;
In the drop-down list, we find the application of interest to be removed. We enter it and select the item "delete data". After the master data is deleted, you can press the button "delete".
Although Miui 8.0 differs from its predecessors, the developers still tried to make its interface as intuitive as possible and avoid creating such situations. Therefore, uninstalling applications should not cause difficulties for advanced Android users. If you need to remove multiple applications, to do this you must repeat the operation for each application manually, or in the Ccleaner program, select all the applications to be removed.
Note.-If the application belongs to the MIUI system, its removal using the above methods is impossible. To remove applets from the system, use superuser rights, which can be obtained without losing the warranty of your smart technology.
